(10/06/2009, Ostfildern) - Despite the difficult economic climate, SCHOPF
Maschinenbau GmbH of Stuttgart, Germany, continues to forge ahead.
The company will unveil its newly developed F210 aircraft tug at the inter
airport Europe GSE exhibition in Munich 6 - 9 October 2009 (outdoor area,
stand B50). It is destined to be yet another SCHOPF success.
SCHOPF has already achieved world renown and an excellent market share
with its aircraft tugs in the 30 ton class. Building on this experience
and the successes of the past, SCHOPF now launches the all-new F210.
With operating weights in the 22 to 32 ton range, the F210 design is based
on earlier released and very successfully sold tractors like the F110,
F160 and F300. Displaying outstanding performance, superb ergonomics and
with a cab planned as an operator-friendly working environment, the SCHOPF
design showed GSE users around the world the way forward.
And with the F210 SCHOPF again demonstrates the advantages of a simple
power deck layout. The excellent access this concept provides means that
routine maintenance and daily checks can be carried out without the need
to remove panels or covers.
The F210 is powered by an electronically-controlled water-cooled Deutz
diesel engine developing 155 kW at 2,300 rpm, with exhaust emissions in
accordance with the latest environmental directives.
The tug has a ZF full power shift transmission with integrated torque
converter, providing high drawbar pull up to a maximum of 210 kN. It enables
jerk-free acceleration throughout the full range of gears to any speed
between 0 – 30 km/h, eliminating the need to pre-select a single “optimum” gear
prior to towing operations.
The F210 cab comes in a lifting version. The design comfortably accommodates
two people, offers exceptional all-round visibility and incorporates the
latest technology. Furthermore, superb ergonomics make for superior driver
comfort, not least in ease of driver entrance and exit.
This latest member of the SCHOPF family of aircraft tractors has had the
experience and know-how of its ancestors bred into it. With such a pedigree,
it is bound to be another SCHOPF success story.
